Whilst our data are based on observational findings in a relatively small number of samples, and take no account of possible partial- or non-adherence to medication, the higher clozapine concentrations and the higher clozapine:norclozapine ratio may be significant factors determining the increased incidence of weight gain and dysmetabolic profiles in females prescribed clozapine.
