Recently, pancreatic cancer has shown an increasing trend in incidence rates among both men and women. 1 , 2 Approximately 266 669 cases die due to pancreatic cancer per year globally, making it the eighth leading cause of cancer death. 3 , 4 Despite advances in surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy, the prognosis of pancreatic cancer is still extremely poor: less than 5% of patients survive for five years after diagnosis.
