Samples with increased binding to ICAM-1 were also associated with elevated plasma concentrations of TNF (Spearman rho = 0.30, p = 0.038) particularly in children who also had raised levels of I-FABP (Spearman rho = 0.62, p = 0.055) although here the difference did not quite reach significance (Fig. 3 ).
