Additionally, expression of the empty vector showed a nonsignificant trend toward being slightly increased upon hnRNP-Q1 knockdown (1.23-fold; Figure 8E ) suggesting that the poly(A) tail may contribute to this mechanism ( Svitkin et al ., 2013 ), but the effect of the endogenous Gap-43 poly(A) tail should be assessed before any conclusions can be made.
