Three studies in the literature measured patient cognitive status using the mini mental examination [ 11 , 18 , 22 ] and in all of them there were highly significant correlations with the utility, which would reinforce our hypothesis that long-term treatment with citicoline at high doses would be associated with a better quality of life of patients by improving patients’ neurocognitive function after a first ischemic stroke.
