Specifically, we found that the fungal OTU Cortinarius1 was significant in structuring the bacterial endophyte community, and that the OTU Sarcosphaera coronaria was marginally significant, but that when either population or environmental characteristics were taken into account, the importance of particular ECM fungi for structuring bacterial communities changed such that Cortinarius1 became a less important factor and S. coronaria became a more important factor.
