A multivariate logistic regression analysis including these three SNPs of ABCG2 showed that rs2728125 no longer had a significant association (p=0.19), but rs72552713 and rs2231142, that is, two non-synonymous SNPs, remained highly significant (see online supplementary table S7A, B), indicating that rs2728125 was merely a surrogate marker for rs2231142.
