Several species of environmental mycobacteria have been known to be important human pathogens, and reports suggest that there is an increasing trend in the incidence of NTM disease (Moore et al., 2010 ; Donohue et al., 2015 ), and in particular, in immunocompromised patients (Parashar et al., 2004 ; Narang et al., 2009 ).
