Results reported in Table 1 and Figures 3 and 4 show that as compared to the control group, participants in the experimental group exhibited considerable reductions in distress ( P < .05), negative emotions ( P < .05), depression ( P < .01) and marginally significant increases in peacefulness ( P < .56) and vitality ( P < .56) over the study period.
