Based on interesting literature on the zinc level in the PM with a positive trend with asthma morbidity [ 32 ], the direct induction of eotaxin protein by NiO NPs without involvement of IgE or complement activation can suggest one possible mechanism for this non-allergic asthmatic lung injury by PM and further studies are warranted.
