Formal certified BLS and ACLS training courses with the hands-on practice improved rate of immediate survival and survival to hospital discharge rates leading to definitive improvement in the outcome of CPR.[ 5 ] Although the quality of CPR improved after implementing 2005 guidelines, only a weak trend in improved survival to hospital discharge following cardiac arrest was seen.[ 16 ] Even with monthly practice and accurate voice-activated manikin feedback, some nursing students could not perform CPR correctly.[ 17 ] In phase one, there was a statistically significant increase in mean posttest CPR knowledge, and overall performance.
