Indeed, mortality was not significantly different between rivaroxaban and warfarin in ROCKET-AF (the Rivaroxaban Once Daily Oral Direct Factor Xa Inhibition Compared with Vitamin K Antagonism for Prevention of Stroke and Embolism Trial in Atrial Fibrillation), whereas the mortality reduction was significant for apixaban (11% reduction) and borderline significant for dabigatran 150 mg twice daily (10% reduction, P=0.05), compared with warfarin in their respective phase 3 trials. 2 26 27 We found comparable bleeding rates for warfarin and rivaroxaban that were noticeably higher than for both apixaban and dabigatran.
