Conclusions Given the highly significant results from application of IE to EEG, with the ability to discriminate between waking and sleep consciousness stages via multiple distinct statistical descriptions, the study of EEG-based information transfer constant ( κ ) certainly deserves to be tried more generally with other sleep EEG datasets to ensure replicability.
