We also did not detect significant (or trend-level) relationships between maternal sensitivity and child DRD4 genotype in the total sample or the European-ancestry sub-sample; a marginally significant difference in maternal sensitivity between the 7-allele carriers and non-carriers was seen in the African-American sub-sample only (N = 21), and thus future studies with larger sample sizes should further examine this trend.
