The current study showed that there was a highly significant statistical difference between sepsis patients with AKI and sepsis patients without AKI with regard to serum creatinine and serum NGAL ( P = 0.0001), also found that some of these patients might develop loss of renal function after three days, and serum NGAL identified these patients before such loss of renal function.
