No amyloid-β-containing neuritic plaques or amyloid angiopathy were detected (data not shown). Non-parametric correlation analysis showed a statistically highly significant positive correlation between 18 F-AV-1451 SUVRs in different brain regions and the severity of tau-neuropathology according to immunohistochemistry in the same regions when using either neuropathological grading of tau pathology (r = 0.93, P < 0.01; Fig. 3I ) or quantification of the density of tau-positive neurites (r = 0.92, P < 0.01; Fig. 3K ).
