When measured at a fixed distance of 1.7 mm from the disc center, retinal thickness demonstrated a small but highly significant increase between birth and 13 years of age both temporally ( F = 31.8; P < 0.0001; Fig 6 A) and nasally ( F = 9.93; P = 0.002; Fig 6 C; mean change between birth and 13 years of age, 7.4% and 4.8%, respectively).
