Previous studies have reported that male sex and old age contribute to higher mortality; 8 however, a recent registry reported an increasing trend of PH‐induced mortality and hospitalization in females. 9 In addition, women were reported to account for 61% of all PH hospitalizations in 2002 and up to 63% in 2010. 2 Thus, the impact of sex in PH‐associated survival remains controversial.
