Considering the age and the repe- titions of grade of many of the children, it seems probable that a still larger number may have had auditory memory spans of only 3 when they first entered school. The results which have been outlined indicate that the auditory memory span test is highly significant from a diagnostic point of view and that it is of value in indicating pedagogical procedure.
