Staining for AChRε at this early age showed a statistically significant increase in AChRε-/SV2+ NMJs in DKO muscle relative to control (13.4 ± 2.4% and 4.2 ± 2.2%, respectively; p = 0.008) and a corresponding reduction in AChRε+/SV2+ endplates (89.4 ± 4.5% control, 79.6 ± 5.2% DKO) that almost reached statistical significance (p = 0.07) ( Fig. 8c and d).
