In the appendix, a useful account is given of the baths and exercises; and in this the author takes the opportunity to express his opinion?an opinion which is probably shared by almost all men of real experience?that auscultatory percussion, in so far as it is concerned with the size of the heart, is "absolutely untrustworthy." There is also, in this appendix, a somewhat significant remark, containing a deserved censure on some recent tendencies arising out of modern methods.
