A study of 32 mice found a marginally significant trend that “fitness‐rank,” based on social dominance, was positively correlated with male mass, but not female mass (Krackow, 1993 ), while another larger study found positive relationships for “dominance‐rank” and body mass in both sexes (Franks & Lenington, 1986 ).
