That the obese rely greatly for cooling on the evaporation of sweat is shown by the difficulty they experience in warm humid surroundings. It has not been possible to find evidence of over-clothing amongst the obese, but it may be significant that most of them are engaged in indoor occupations, under equitable conditions of temperature.
