In relation to what I have just said about the scalp it may be significant that at all cutaneous creases (which are after all only lines of flexion of one part on another) the skin is more immobile than elsewhere and through its sub- cutaneous tissue is more or less firmly anchored by areolar connective tissue to the deeper structures, especially to the deep fascia.
