The review by Free et al [ 24 ] which achieved the highest AMSTAR score (9) found that mobile technology-based interventions improve glycemic control, but the effects were small and of borderline significance (MD -0.27% (95% CI:-0.48, -0.06), 5 trials, I 2 = 8.5%).
