Whilst post-hoc t-tests comparing the two speeds of touch at the palm, t (28) = -.48, p = .63, and the arm, t (28) = 1.4, p = .16, both failed to reach significance, the stability of the interaction effect, and trend at the arm, support the notion that the zygomaticus effect is velocity specific and does not merely reflect differences in the duration of the stimuli applied.
