An increasing trend in psoriasis prevalence has been observed in several settings before, for example in the U.S.A., Norway and Spain. 19 , 20 , 21 , 22 , 23 This observed increase in prevalence of psoriasis has been speculated to be related to a better awareness of the disease among physicians and in the general population (possibly due to the advent of biologic therapies) rather than a real increase in the prevalence of the disease. 23 In this study, we were able to consider this steady increase in psoriasis in the context of a decreasing risk of mortality.
