5 , 6 Regardless of weight and BMI prior to the procedure, contrary to what was believed, the improved mobility obtained with arthroplasties did not lead to a reduction in the anthropometric measurements in patients with BMI between 20 and 30 kg/m 2 ; however, in patients who were obese prior to surgery, there was a slight trend toward a reduction in BMI.
