A borderline significant difference in XPC mRNA expression levels was observed in Chinese participants carrying the rs1870134 GG genotype, compared with those carrying CG/CC genotypes ( P = 0.0853), which is likely due to the small sample size (N = 45), and the overall genotype-phenotype correlation was present for all ethnic groups (N = 270, P < 0.0001, and R = 0.248) (Figure 2 ).
