Of note, in the previously mentioned ASL perfusion study in hereditary CAA ( van Opstal et al., 2017 ), the areas of previous ICH were discarded from the analysis, and the difference in occipital perfusion between patients and controls was not quite significant after correction for multiple tests; the asymptomatic mutation carriers showed not even a trend for a difference with controls. 4.1.4 Additional points Heterogeneity in case-mix between the six diagnostic studies reported so far needs mentioning ( Table 1 ).
