These constitute indirect evidence that dogs may not be significant intra-domiciliary reservoirs in these villages, which is consistent with their prevalence of infection with T . cruzi being twice as low as in humans ( Table 1 ), and with the inhabitants reporting that dogs do not sleep indoors.
