Uncovering novel loci for these traits at the seed germination stage has great significance in rice breeding for salt tolerance. There was highly significant genetic variation in all seed germination traits among rice germplasm accessions nested within the rice subgroups, together with less significant variance in GI, IR-24 h, IR-48 h, and GR-48d within subgroups ( indica , japonica , aus and other) under salt stress (60 mM NaCl).
