With regard to histology, we found a highly significant positive correlation between ELN and OS in squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma; however, for other histologic types, the correlation was less uniform across cohorts most likely as a result of the paucity of cases or because the node status did not affect prognosis and treatment.
