While ungrouping identical subclones reduced hemimethylation values at both the Gtl2 - and IG-DMRs, from 31.8 to 29.8 and 8.4 to 6.1%, respectively (Additional file 3 : Table S2, Additional file 4 : Table S3), the difference in hemimethylation levels between the primary IG-DMR and the secondary Gtl2 -DMR remains highly significant as assessed using a Chi-squared test of independence ( P = 2.81 × 10 −59 ).
