Interestingly, while the attention effect at the central stimulus location was pronounced and highly significant for the total group of observers, it was absent for the youngest participants (10–20 years) and was very small in participants between 20 and 40 years of age (see Fig. 7 in Poggel, Treutwein, et al., 2006 ).
