On the other hand, the diagnosis of asymptomatic myocarditis in SSc is extremely significant, because it demands prompt rheumatic treatment to avoid future irreversible cardiac lesions [ 7 ]; furthermore, although it is easy to diagnose the presence of clinically overt myocarditis, which usually presents with concurrent myositis in SSc [ 7 ], it remains rather difficult to achieve this target in asymptomatic cases [ 8 , 13 , 18 ].
