A pooled post hoc subgroup analysis of the combined placebo arms from the two studies showed the risk of recurrence was lower in patients with only one diverticulitis episode in the year prior to study entry compared to >1 episode, with a nonsignificant trend to higher risk for recurrence in patients aged less than 60 years vs ≥60 years (Table 2 ).
