Adhesive sealing of fissures using (un-)filled composite resins (CRs) has proven to be a preventive strategy with high efficacy 1 and highly significant caries reduction rates. 2 In specimens sealed clinically, bacteria located in the fissures were entrapped or explicitly reduced 3 by the sealing procedure, thus indicating that any microbial activities will be stopped.
