We observed a borderline significant association between high intake of processed meat and increased risk of colon cancer in men (HR: 1.23 for highest compared with lowest quintile; 95% CI: 0.80, 1.90; p for trend = 0.053), but no significant interaction with sex was seen (p = 0.127).
