Results of this phase 3 trial show that the addition of weekly 30 mg/m 2 cisplatin to preoperative radiotherapy did not enhance OS, but significantly improved 5-year DMFS, 80.4% v 68.1% ( P = 0.04), and also borderline significance in PFS (53.2% v 38.7%, P = 0.06) when compared to preoperative radiotherapy alone.
