We found highly significant increases in the incorporation of 13 C into TCA intermediates as well as into amino acids derived from TCA intermediates in quiescent NSPCs ( Figure 2 E), suggesting that the fatty acid-derived carbon atoms might be further used as an alternative carbon source.
