The other highly significant miRNAs displaying a steep decrease from younger to older animals (miR-301b, miR-130b, miR-20a, and miR-15b) are known to be involved in cancers (Attar et al. 2012 ; Funamizu et al. 2014 ; O’Donnell et al. 2005 ; Zhu et al. 2015 ), suggesting a role for these miRNAs in regulating MEC cell proliferation immediately after birth.
