When adjusting for the potential confounding factors, the increased risk remained for undifferentiated, large cell, anaplastic or mixed carcinoma (OR 1.57, 95% CI 1.05–2.34) while the OR for squamous cell carcinoma was of borderline significance (OR 1.30, 95% CI 0.99–1.71).
