In agreement with these data, the joint statistical analysis by PCA of the ‘ion contents’ variables showed highly significant correlations with the salt treatment, in roots and leaves, positive for Na + and Cl - (which increased with increasing salinity), and negative for K + (which decreased as Na + accumulated).
