Following the stratification by tumor site (colon / rectum) we found that rs1525489 showed a marginal/borderline significance with increased risk of rectal cancer at nominal level of (P trend = 0.0071), while the associations between the SNPs and colon cancer were similar to those considering the two strata together (Table 2 ).
