There was no significant difference between family types in the proportion of mothers who had separated or divorced from the child’s father, although there was a nonsignificant trend toward higher relationship breakdown among the surrogacy and donor insemination families alongside a particularly low rate among the egg donation families, χ 2 (3) = 6.42, p = .09.
