There was an observed trend to earlier age of onset of MGUS in blacks compared with whites, and the disparity in prevalence of MGUS between blacks and whites was most striking in the 40–49 age-group; 3.26% (95% CI 2.04–5.18) versus 0.53% (95% CI 0.20–1.37), P =0.001 ( Table 1 ).
