Herein, we identified 4 cyanidin glycosides in “Purple Peel” fig fruit, determined the substance responsible for the mutated purple color, and more importantly, revealed highly significant accumulation of colorless procyanidin B1, luteolin-3′,7-di-O-glucoside, epicatechin and other important secondary metabolites in the phenylpropanoid and flavonoid biosynthetic pathways.
