Adverse events, including nausea/vomiting (RR: 0.61; 95% CI: 0.32 to 1.18; I 2 = 1%) and shivering (RR: 0.26; 95% CI: 0.11 to 0.60; I 2 = 0%), were lower in the dexmedetomidine group than in the placebo group, but this was not quite significant for nausea/vomiting.
