VO 2 also showed a clear diurnal-nocturnal variation in both genotypes ( Fig 10B ), and there was a highly significant effect of genotype revealed in mice kept on high fat diet, VO 2 being significantly lower in Cyp4x1 knock out males compared to floxed males during both the light and dark phases (P<0.001, Fig 10 ).
